Our Ladies take the day
The first of the Waikato Championships - Triples was held over 24/25 Sept and 10 Tokoroa bowlers signed up to participate . Stars of the ladies competition were the fantastic trio of Gwen Dwane, Maia Wilson and Tina Jakes who took out top honours. The win gives Tina her 5th Waikato title which means she gets the GOLD STAR - congratulations. Maia - in her 5th year is taking her talent into the open arena and we will look forward to seeing her name on the lists in future years.
Well done ladies - hugely proud of you!
2022 Opening Day
The Bowling Gods smiled upon us on Sat 17 Sept for our Opening Day. 25 bowlers rang the New Year in with a spirited game of triples. First jack of the season was sent down by newly minted Life Member - Anne Manthey closely followed by Russ Murphy - also the newest Life Member - delivering the first bowl. Winners of the day were Bondy, Maia and Rangi and the runners up were Gwen, Toby and Aaron. Let the season begin

Tokoroa Players shine at Waikato Champ Pairs
What an amazing weekend 15-16 Oct was for Tokoroa players at the Waikato Championship Pairs - whether playing as a Tok team or teaming up with players from other clubs.

First up we have our only men's team in the tournament - Paul Howe and Gordon Bond who came out winners after beating Hillcrest's Shane Bowe and Malcolm Moore 16/6. It makes a nice addition to the Champ Champ Men's Pairs they won last year .

As for the ladies - well Maia and Kath made it into semis after beating fellow Tok player Carol Cox who teamed up with Karen de Jong 16/15. Unfortunately they were pipped in the semis by eventual winners Tok Tourny Sec Glenda and Putaruru's Yvonne Carter 14/13. Glenda and Yvonne went on to beat Put's Katrina Ensor and Judy Marr 14/10 to take the Ladies Champ Pairs.

Tokoroa Players are on fire!!!
Robin Ireland
Tokoroa Bowling Club members were saddened to learn of the death of long time member Robin Ireland on 12 September. Robin has held many roles over his 40 plus years as a member and was recently awarded Life Membership in recognition of his services to the Club. He will be sadly missed and the Club would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to Jill and family.
Farewell Robin - May your greens run true.
Farewell to our amazing President
It was a huge shock when we learnt of the sudden death of our lovely President - Maria Howe on 18 Aug 2022. Maria has been a dedicated member of the Bowling community since 2014 and has won many a competition both at club level and centre level over the years. She also gave much back to the club serving on committees over the years. She will be sadly missed.
